Mauri Stiff - UCP Nominee
Mauri is a mother of two and a successful business woman with a lifelong history of volunteer and philanthropic experience. Born and raised in the Calgary area, she is deeply rooted in her community and committed to making it the best it can be. Mauri offers a refreshing change as a United Conservative Party nomination candidate.
Mauri was raised in an entrepreneurial family. As a high school student, she operated her first business, a Bleacher Seating company for sporting events and the Calgary Stampede Parade.
She married her high school sweetheart and during their 21 years together, they have owned and operated a contracting company, while husband Trevor serves as a Calgary Firefighter.
Volunteering started early in Mauri's life, coaching with the Special Olympics Track and Field Program and as a camp counselor for physically and mentally challenged adults at Camp Horizon. Mauri was a youth program leader in her church, and continues teaching an early morning seminary class for high school students. Mauri assists in the organization of citywide food drives for the food bank, and sits on a faith-based public affairs council.
While their children were young, Mauri worked in the schools as a volunteer, as well as serving on the executive boards of the parent council.
She had a great camaraderie with the other parents and the community while successfully fundraising for a playground and various other school needs.
Mauri has hosted numerous community events supporting breakfast programs in the Rockyview School division and
other charities. As a REALTOR®, she donates a portion of every transaction to Ronald MacDonald House or The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society.
For the past decade, Mauri's passion has been in real estate, obtaining numerous professional designations; becoming an instructor at the Calgary Real Estate Board, and leading a mentor group for women in the
industry. Mauri has earned several awards in her brokerage and consistently performs at high producer levels.
Her work in real estate has given her a unique and intimate perspective of the challenges facing families throughout our riding. She is prepared and ready to be the advocate and voice for change for everyone in the Airdrie-Cochrane.
